Daily Maintenance of Rubber Rollers
1.Precautions:
For unused rubber rollers or used rubber rollers that have been discontinued, keep them in the best condition according to the following conditions.
Storage place
① The room temperature is kept at 15-25°C (59-77°F), and the humidity is kept below 60%.
② Store in a dark place out of direct sunlight. (Ultraviolet rays in the sun will age the rubber roller surface)
③ Please do not store in a room with UV equipment (which emits ozone), corona discharge treatment equipment, static elimination equipment, and high-voltage power supply equipment. (These devices will crack the rubber roller and make it unusable)
④ Place in a place with little indoor air circulation.
How to keep
⑤ The roller shaft of the rubber roller must be placed on the pillow during storage, and the rubber surface should not be in contact with other objects. When putting the rubber roller upright, be careful not to touch hard objects. Special reminder is that the rubber roller must not be stored directly on the ground, otherwise the surface of the rubber roller will be dented, so that the ink cannot be applied.
⑥ Do not remove the wrapping paper when storing. If the wrapping paper is damaged, please repair the wrapping paper and take care to avoid air leakage. (The rubber roller inside is eroded by air and will cause aging, making it difficult to absorb ink)
⑦ Please do not place heating appliances and heat-generating objects near the storage area of the rubber roller. (The rubber will undergo chemical changes under the influence of high heat).
2.Precautions when starting to use
Control the best impression line width
① Rubber is a material with a relatively large expansion rate. As the temperature changes, the outer diameter of the rubber roller will change accordingly. For example, when the thickness of the rubber roller is relatively thick, once the indoor temperature exceeds 10°C, the outer diameter will expand by 0.3-0.5mm.
② When running at high speed (for example: 10,000 revolutions per hour, running for more than 8 hours), as the temperature of the machine rises, the temperature of the rubber roller also rises, which will reduce the hardness of the rubber and thicken its outer diameter. At this time, the embossing line of the rubber roller in contact will become wider.
③ In the initial setting, it is necessary to consider maintaining the nip line width of the rubber roller in operation within 1.3 times the optimal nip line width. Controlling the best impression line width not only involves printing quality control, but also prevents the shortening of the rubber roller's life.
④ During operation, if the width of the impression line is inappropriate, it will hinder the fluidity of the ink, increase the contact pressure between the rubber rollers, and make the surface of the rubber roller rough.
⑤ The width of the impression line on the left and right of the rubber roller must be kept uniform. If the width of the impression line is set incorrectly, it will cause the bearing to heat up and the outer diameter will become thicker.
⑥ After long-term operation, if the machine is stopped for more than 10 hours, the temperature of the rubber roller will drop and the outer diameter will return to its original size. Sometimes it becomes thinner. Therefore, when restarting operation, the width of the impression line must be checked again.
⑦ When the machine stops running and the room temperature at night drops to 5°C, the outer diameter of the rubber roller will shrink, and sometimes the width of the impression line will become zero.
⑧ If the printing workshop is relatively cold, you must be careful not to let the room temperature drop. When you go to work on the first day after the rest day, while maintaining the room temperature, let the machine idle for 10-30 minutes to allow the rubber roller to warm up before checking the width of the impression line.
